"Odette" Print

When I was younger, I had the opportunity of watching legendary prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso in her prime, all this in Cuba prior to 1980. One of her finest characterizations was the role of "Odette" - the enchanted princess - in Act II of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. I was a sort of Degas because at that time I painted many, many ballerinas most of them I met personally. My portrayals were very vivid in either oil, watercolor or colored pencils. Materials were scarce, so I had to use whatever I could find. This one was inspired on a Black & White photograph I found navigating through the internet, but the pose fascinated me indeed. The background forest, the lake and the colors applied just came out from my imagination that's why I consider this a "surrealistic realism", Funny, no? What do you think?
