About The Artwork
This work is inspired by the artist's experience and struggle living in a foreign country. She thrived and somehow survived being on her own in unfamiliar place. She was always nostalgic about her previous life but she made it through because of the people she relates to being on the same boat with her in this journey. She hopes that the viewers will have their own interpretation of the painting. She chose oils in canvas. The painting was made layers by layers, taking time for each layer to dry as if she is re-living her journey in order to tell her story. This painting took two months to finish.
