About The Artwork

Guacamayos, the vibrant birds residing in the Amazonía of Ecuador, served as the inspiration for this painting. It's a part of my animal collection, where I explored composition and developed my unique style. This painting exudes passion and energy, filling the room with its dynamic presence. It has been a constant companion, lifting my spirits and instilling positivity even during the toughest times. Releasing it feels like parting with a cherished child, so for now, I'll only make prints available unless presented with an exceptionally compelling proposal. Apologies for any inconvenience. Using acrylic, I condensed the fiery red color, employing thick brushstrokes to recreate the texture of feathers. The birds feel almost lifelike, ready to burst out of the picture and serenade. A layer of school glue adds a protective shine, making it glisten like a jewel. Material: Watercolor paper, glue-covered. Unframed. Recommended hanging: framed. Hardware is not included. An Ecuadorian artist, navigates the local artistic landscape with a distinctive approach, diverging from the typical dichotomy prevalent among Quitenian artists. Rather than aligning with the bohemian left or the elite, art-educated right, Angela embraces her identity as an ambitious Quitenian with a down-to-earth perspective. Balancing her artistic pursuits with a middle-class sensibility, Angela introduces a unique voice in the narrative of Ecuador's art scene. She modestly considers herself a sui generis expressionist, influenced by her early exposure to art through her mother, Angie, and the captivating oil-painting sessions with her aunt-in-law, the esteemed artist Micaela Almeida.Angela's artistic journey began with humble doodles of flowers, symbolizing intimacy and family bonds. Her style, marked by an indiscriminate use of colors, reflects her innate creativity. Turning to digital mediums for expression, she reserves traditional materials for moments of artistic freedom. Angela, embracing vulnerability, desires a return to the simplicity of white canvases. She discreetly embeds messages in her art, inviting viewers to discover joy in nature scenes, and showcasing Quitenian humor with humility and depth.
