What/who inspired the work? - The Golden Age of pirates its captains like the infamous Blackbeard and his ship the Queen Anne's Revenge. What do I hope its viewers will feel/think? - A sense of adventure for the romanticism that one feels for the age of pirates. Why did I choose the medium, subject matter, style? - One of my early oil paintings, I choose it a long with the subject to experiment a mix of styles, like realism, impressionism, and a bit of expressive brush strokes.
