About The Artwork
Inspired by seeing hummingbirds and the many curious annedotes related to their evolution, particularly in correlation with their environment and habitual fauna. There are 21 hearts/bolts representing heartbeats a second and 79 wind flows representing wingbeats. The flows and offshoots were inspired by watching the maths and the sheer majesty on display whilst in flight when they were studied in wind tunnels. There are many documentaries on these fascinating birds which i wholeheartedly recommend watching as you will be able to attribute quirks in this painting to the sheer wonder and magic of how these fascinating creatures go about their lives.
