About The Artwork

The natural world inspired this work. I spend most of my time exploring this theme. I want to bring the environment and its occupants other than homosapiens into focus - to remind and encourage us not to destroy the very life source we need to survive. The medium is acrylic, not the best in terms of environmental sustainibility, but I'm not perfect. The material it is painted on is wood; to remind people that trees are necessary for the biosphere, and something we must preserve and plant in abundance - in a diverse way.

Kipling Hunt is best described as a multi-disciplinary fine artist. Colour, concept, craft and collaboration have all been key components in her work so far. Born in London, Hunt has also lived in Barcelona, Birmingham and in semi-rural isolation on the borders of Wales. Kipling makes fine art pieces in ceramic, in paint, in print, in film, or in fact any medium most able to deliver each concept in question with assurance and panache. Hunt has been involved in close collaboration with other artists, experts and the general public- in solo, group and site-specific projects. Kipling has also worked for over a decade in the Secondary Art Market, as a General Specialist in Fine Art Paintings, Prints and Sculpture. This gave Hunt great insight and a comprehensive knowledge of artists both practicing and those now deceased; and a working blueprint of what goes on behind the scenes to oil the wheels of the global art market. Hunt has been an active member of the sub-committee, primarily in the foreign film sector, of the British Independent Film Awards – as a viewer and voter of films for over ten years.
