About The Artwork

The term "Stockholm Syndrome" appeared forty years ago, with the end of a six-day siege on a bank. The term is often associated with what happened to Patty Hearst, the daughter of a wealthy Californian who was kidnapped by some revolutionary militants in 1974, to show sympathy for her kidnappers and participate in a robbery, before she ends up being arrested and sentenced imprisonment. However, Hearst's defense lawyer said that she had undergone a brainwashing process, and that she was suffering from what is known as Stockholm Syndrome, which was recently used to explain the irrational feelings that the kidnappers feel towards their captors.
