About The Artwork
This work was inspired from living in China. I created a collage from photos taken while there and other inspirational images. The vase is a container of space to hold not only water but life itself. A modern way of saving space for thoughts and dreams. The fire cracker is used as a way to celebrate weddings as well as death in China. I use this idea of it as expansion and also of holding safe all the emotions as a powerful guide on our journey in life. Two vases are together yet separate. Both solid. It refers a bit to the figure metaphorically.
