About The Artwork
Part of my vintage theme reflecting life in Scotland in the forties, fifties and sixties. Many young men left school and went straight in to a working life in the local ‘pit’ or doing a job connected to the pit. Growing up I have find memories of our blackened faces Coal Men and their grumpiness. Come rain, hail or shine these guys delivered much needed coal across the country. We should never forget the people behind our progress.
