More than 60,000 Cubans have died in the Florida Strait for over half a century trying to flee communism and find true Freedom in USA. Our Lady of Charity is the maximum icon of Cuban identity especially for Catholics. In her original image she appears saving three slaves - named "Juan" each one - from an approaching storm. Now the "Juanes" have been replaced by rafters many of whom died devoured by sharks. This is my humble homage to them.
