About The Artwork

While driving back from a recent field project in Hot Creek Valley, I dropped down into Railroad Valley which contains a huge playa just as a squall front was coming over the Pancake Range. The contrasting shadows and sun-lit areas across the valley and surrounding hills inspired this original oil painting.
