About The Artwork

A sketch of people waiting in line- This coloured drawing was inspired by a bus stop in Hemmingford Road London, which ran at the top of Huntigdon Street. MY Uncle and Aunt then lived in Huntigdon Street with its beautiful row of victorina townhouses, with a typical railing and steps leading to the front door. Hemmingford road howvever was not so attractive, and the stop was by a sort of unkept part (at the time), so I put the bus stop in the muche nicer road Huntingdon Street. I have only sketched in a hint of the houses, as this was a preliminary study for what will be a series of sketches depicting this beautiful area.

Welcome to my world of colours and emotions! I am a landscape and abstract painter, and I invite you to explore my art that reflects the beauty of nature and the depth of human feelings. I was born in Bedford, UK to Italian parents, and am now an ex-pat living and painting in Italy. I showed a strong passion talent for drawing and painting at a very young age. My parents moved to Luton when I was four, where they opened an Italian restaurant which became famous in the area for its faithfully typical Italian cuisine. I frequented the Barnfield College of Arts & Technology taking a four-year course in fashion design and clothing technology. I then worked in fashion houses in London, for about four years working mainly with Inega Jeans and Rapture Jeans. I also worked in the costume department during the making of the film Barry Lynden and some years later the film Revolution. I have however always maintained some drawing and painting over the years, even if working in entirely different fields. In 1992, in an international exhibition, I won my personal hanging space for one year at the Limner Gallery of Soho in New York. I am now drawing and painting full-time and enjoy painting with various mediums and subjects and in varying styles. This past year I have been enjoying doing some plein air painting of landscapes and Seascapes, and I am also really enjoying making abstracts of various types, I love the many forms of abstract expression, the fluid art of Dutch pouring, and the Geodes. I have been published in many Artist books and among the critiques I received here's what some say about my work "a unique blend of fashion and landscape painting, brought to life by a talented artist. With a background in fashion design, the artist, Maryha in art, Maria Rosaria by name, in her studio Juxtapose-Art brings a fresh perspective to landscape painting. In addition to stunning landscapes, this artist also creates interesting abstracts, flow art, beautiful geodes, and other captivating pieces. Explore her versatile world and discover the beauty of this one-of-a-kind artist" A talented artist, Maryha (MariaRosaria), born in UK of Italian origin, now living and painting in Italy, Maryha has always had a great passion for painting and drawing, showing great talent from a very early age. With a background in dress design, this artist brings a unique perspective to her work, blending colour, texture, and form in unexpected ways.
