I liked a legend about a walnut. The walnut in Greece was called Persian, and Juglans regia (in Latin) translates as the king's nut. Greek mythology said that the god Dionysus once visited King Dion. The king's daughter, Carya, became the beloved of Dionysus but then suddenly died in separation from him. Dionysus turned dead lovers into plants (remember the story of the grapes?). So Dionysus transformed Carya into a walnut tree. Having learned about the fate of Carya, Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, informed King Dion of his daughter's misfortune and ordered him to build a temple in her memory. They dedicated the temple to Artemis Caryatids: the Lady of the Nut-Tree, whose priestesses were called the caryatid, its columns, sculpted in wood, in the form of young women, were called caryatides or nymphs of the walnut tree. I used high-quality watercolor cotton paper 300 gr/m2 and professional watercolor paints. The work is provided without a frame.

The theme of my work is the secret life of plants in a photorealism style. I like to find unusual plant angles and amusing compositions. You look, at an ordinary onion, and then you look closely — a golden fish. Or physalis — it was just a beautiful berry until it bent the sepals and turned into a bird. So one day, a grape became a centaur, and the chrysanthemum became a cocky young rooster. A similar story happened with cherries: they were ordinary cherries until a gust of wind turned the leaves into a peacock's tail.
