An abstract contemporary mixed media watercolor on canvas. This painting shows lots of thin colorful layers, giving it a dreamy but powerful atmosphere. The colors are partly handmixed and extra silver pigments add some special sparkle when hit by direct light, just like you can have it at the sea (see detail photos). All the very thin fluid layers of colors lead to a certain markmaking and leave traces on the canvas that are important for my work. There are lots of details to discover! 50x50x2 cm, unframed, handmixed gouache, watercolors and silver pigments on gallery wrapped canvas, sides partly painted with traces of the painting process, UV varnished for protection. Hook on the back. Signed on the back and Certificate of Authenticity. Germany
Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
