About The Artwork
This is my first take on my hometown of Zoutelande. I was born and raised here, so i had to try and paint it. It depicts the town as it was around 70 years ago, as you can see at the older buildings in the painting. Prominent here is the Church, witch is the center of the town for more than 800 years. And the dunes protecting the small village from the sea right behind them. The painting is done with oils on first grade linnen. These are the best materials possible for this piece, to make all the colours and shapes come out as they do. The piece is finished of with a fine layer of varnish, to protect it forever, and make the brushstrokes and colours come out even more. It is send without a frame, so you can find one to your liking suiting your own style. Or you can hang the painting as it is without one.
