There is a time, particularly in the grey depths of winter, where we need to remember that there is a summer! And that it will come again! There are people who have Susans in their lives, even if they are not black-eyed! I am hoping this picture will bring back those happy memories, or give us a reason to look forward to another season. I think this picture would be ideal in a kitchen, child's nursery, or that dark corner of a room that needs brightening up. Matted and framed, I envisage the work as measuring about 20 inches high by 17 inches wide, maybe a little more with the frame.

I am a full-time artist mainly painting in oils and acrylics. Previously I worked for many years as a journalist and a photo-journalist. In the later years of my career in journalism my field of expertise was in politics, from municipal politics through regional to coverage of the Ontario Legislature. Other areas I specialized in were health, the environment and travel. I was also a newspaper photographer, and later worked on the books "A Day in the Life of Canada" and "A Day in the Life of Japan", serving as associate director of photography and assignment editor.
