Following the series of photos from Bahia, brazilian Black Rome, a woman braids another woman's hair. The picture was taken in Pelourinho, where during the colonial period, slavered people were punished. Nowadays, is the greatest centre of culture and religion, with music all around, diverse religious manifestations, and other cultural manifestations, as the hair braiders, present in every street of Pelourinho. Pelourinho can also be seen in Michael Jackson's music video, They Don't Care About Us. This picture portraits the beauty, resistence, strenght and the connection to our roots, the ancestrality, that hair brading provides.
