About The Artwork
This work is part of my current project: to progress street photography from its current intrusive and exploitative state to a humane art, going beyond the simple image in the search for greater meaning and feeling. My work currently combines camera movement, long exposures, superimposition and other digital techniques. It is a difficult technique sometimes taking hours in one area to get the base image(s) followed by many hours in Lightroom and Photoshop. My inspirations are post-impressionist and fauvist, as well as other contemporary photographers working in the same vein with different subject matter, eg botanical and landscape. My goal is to convey the energy and impression of the place with invading the privacy or exploiting individuals.

My love affair with photography and photo-manipulation goes back to the 1970s in New York, when the city and its art scene had a long vanished vitality.
