About The Artwork

"Spatial Evolution" is a series inspired by the work "neon structure for IX Triennale Milan" by Lucio Fontana. The evolutions are traces of an abstract thought and dynamic compositions of shapes in ethereal space. Each evolution is a temporal sequence. This work is part of my photographic research focused on the phenomenon of artificial light and the effects of transformation produced by movement.

Born in Palermo in 1977, I’ve spent my adolescence in the heart of Sicily, absorbed in the nature of Madonie Park. When I was young, I’ve got passionate to the study of technical and artistic drawing, followinga phase of painting’s experience and a fruitful collaboration with the artist Croce Taravella. After completing my studies in engineering and architecture, I moved to Berlin, a creative city that awakened in me the interest in photographyas a useful tool to represent reality and space. I initially began to get interested in the study of natural and artificial subjects by creating abstract compositions. In my most recent works I face issues concerning the cities’ historical and contemporary architecture. Photography represents also a document of my travels around the world. I am based in Milan, where I teach, I work as an architect and continue to develop my artistic research.
