About The Artwork

An extremely small seacoast fishing village is built between to two sea ports, simply along a single main road just going through; one is the home port the other one a kind of 'pensioner's port'; high level sea fishing vessels depart for months of fishing faraway following a string of fishing rights rental; on the other hand, all those no longer up to the required proficiency level are stashed on dry land indefinitely, recycled into what comes up. All of it is now purely a commercial existence, the villagers following their fishing mores; seals are sometimes seen swimming through the vessels being refitted along the enclosed port, on the look out for discarded fishes, along with the usual throng of squalling seagulls. Unusually, a first very big steel hulled vessel, too big to be slid up within the old port, is now being cut right besides its fishing fellows now just besides him for a refit between their extensive sea travels.

After my University degree, I decided to opt for a “freelance way of life”. So for the past 60 years, I’ve been an architect, a photographer, a builder, and an extreme Mac user, but always on my own terms, never attracted by the beaten tracks.
