About The Artwork

Picture: One-of-the-Kind signed by Kay Uwe Rott Info: I can also have this picture produced in other sizes and for example also on Alu Dibond. The purchase price then depends on the selected specifications. I can give the exact cost only when I know how big the picture should be, with or without frame, on canvas, acrylic glass or aluminum dibond, taxes, shipping, etc.. About this picture: Nymph. A nymph is a female nature spirit in Greek and Roman mythology. In a broader sense, the term is also used for priestesses. In Greek mythology, nymphs are female deities of lower rank who appear everywhere as personifications of natural forces and were conceived partly as companions of higher deities such as Dionysus, Artemis, or Aphrodite, and partly as acting independently. They were considered to be the - predominantly - beneficent spirits of places, mountains, trees, meadows or caves, but they are not always bound to the same, rather they roam freely, perform dances, hunt game, weave in cool caves, plant trees and are helpful to people in various ways. However, they avoid noisy activities of people. Nymphs, like humans, were considered mortal. However, they were supposed to live much longer - up to near immortality and eternal youth. The death of a nymph was usually equated with the end of what she embodied - for example, a spring or a tree.
