About The Artwork
The work was fostered on being around stressed people and me taking on there energy, this left me feeling bound or pent up, rigid and coarse. For me the contrasting strength of the pine I used to hold the screws shows a soft strength against stress with softness. It is the use of the screws placed too close creating unnecessary stress and tension, juxtaposing on the soft wood letting it infuse itself with Yin to harmonize the Yang. Conceptual art was the primary style executed alongside fire brushing the wood exterior and balancing the light with dark, & ink to help hold it all tonaly centered.
